Subscribe for race updates by text message

If you are an avid supporter of the race - the sort of person who just cannot exist without knowing the latest positions of the Clipper fleet - then this is for you! This service is brought to you exclusively by Jersey Clipper - but keeps you up to date with the positions of all 10 yachts.

What do you get? An SMS text message sent to your GSM mobile phone twice a day within 15 minutes of the leaderboard being updated. So you can wake up in the morning to news of how your crew is getting on!  The text message includes: the yacht name, its position in the race, its distance to the leader, and its change in position since the last report.

What does it cost? The going rate for this sort of service is normally 50p to £1.00 per day but we are offering this at an excellent price of just 18p per day.  This price is just enough to cover the operating costs of the service and any profit will go towards the party for the crews at the Jersey stopover.  You may opt to sign up for one or more legs of the race, or for the whole of the rest of the race.

In this example, Western Australia was in the lead with 133.08 miles to go to the finish line of the current race.  Jersey was in second place, 9.49 miles behind WA in terms of distance to the finish.  Jersey had moved up one place since the previous update.  Victoria Clipper was 9.53 miles behind WA in terms of distance to the finish, and had also moved up one place since the last update.
