Parts Of A Boat

	A = Collision bulkhead. If we hit something when we are at sea like another boat, this bit at the front will get a hole in it and fill with water but it will protect the rest of the boat behind it from sinking.
	B = Bosuns locker. In here we keep all the ropes when we're not using them, and also the fenders which are the big cushions full of air that stop the boat from hitting the side of the harbour when we park the boat.
	C = For'd crew accomodation. There are four beds in here where the crew sleep. On a boat your bed is called a bunk. It is quite noisy in here when the boat is going in and out of the waves, and also you bump up and down a lot.
	D = Midships crew accomodation. Another four people sleep in these bunks, which are the best ones!
	E = Aft crew accomodation. There are six more bunks here, but the ones at the top are very small and so big people can't get into them. Three of the bunks you have to crawl in to.
	F = Heads and shower. The toilet is right next to the shower. The door has a zip instead of a handle. There is another toilet but we don't use it. Instead we use it as a cupboard!
	G = Galley. This is the boat's kitchen where we make our food.
	H = Engine. We don't use the engine when we're sailing along. It's there just in case there is an emergency, or when we're arriving at a harbour.
	I = Skipper's cabin. The skipper (the captain of the boat) is lucky because he has his own bedroom, but its only very small.
	J = Navigation area. This is where our computer is and our telephone. There are lots of instruments which tell us where we are.
	K = Cockpit. This is where the crew sit most of the time when they're up on deck, and also where the steering wheel is. The steering wheel on a boat is called the helm.
	L = Generator compartment. The generator is used to make our electricity. There is also a machine that turns salty sea water into water that we can drink.
	M = Gas bottle storage. We need gas to work the cooker. There are two big bottles of it in here.
